If looking at purchasing items such as nursery and safety equipment or prams you must be satisfied that these items are in good working order and comply with Australian Safety Standards. Check the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission web site for further information regarding Australian Standards.
Important - New safety standards for prams & strollers
From 1 July 2008 all prams and strollers must comply with the new mandatory standards. These include:
- a tether strap to help carers retain control of the pram/stroller
- a parking brake (RED in colour)
- warning label
